Calls
Bi-Monthly Ryan White Part A Community of Practice (COP) Calls
The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) and the CAEAR Coalition established a strategic partnership in 2021 to foster collaboration among local health department HIV programs and Ryan White Part A jurisdictions. The Ryan White Part A Community of Practice (COP) was established to facilitate the work of the partnership. Bi-monthly calls are held on critical topics and intel from these calls is shared with HRSA-HAB. Quarterly Policy Calls with ArentFox Schiff
The CAEAR Coalition works with the Government Affairs Team at ArentFox Schiff – Jon Bouker, Partner, and Oliver Spurgeon, Senior Government Relations Director – to provide on-going education to the CAEAR Coalition membership on current HIV-related policies to develop and implement effective real-time advocacy strategies and policy recommendations. Quarterly policy calls are convened to provide updates on recent developments and to facilitate discussion on key issues and strategies for moving forward. Quarterly Ryan White Part A Planning Council Calls
To ensure the voice of the community remains a critical component of the federal response to the HIV epidemic, the CAEAR Coalition hosts quarterly calls with Ryan White Part A planning councils to foster peer support, gather input to share with federal partners, and provide opportunities to discuss advocacy priorities and concerns. Events
In-Person Meetings and Capitol Hill Visits
The CAEAR Coalition hosts at least one in-person membership meeting a year in Washington, DC. This meeting includes discussion and preparation for meetings with Congressional leaders and members to advance CAEAR Coalition’s advocacy agenda. Session at the National Ryan White Conference on HIV Care and Treatment
NACCHO and the CAEAR Coalition are presenting a joint-session entitled Jurisdictional Roles in Shaping National HIV Policy: A National Partnership to Amplify Local Voices at the National Ryan White Conference on HIV Care and Treatment at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, DC, on Friday, August 23, from 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM ET. Ryan White Town Halls
CAEAR Coalition hosts Town Halls to bring the community together to discuss the national HIV/AIDS advocacy agenda, address key topics impacting the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program, and convene the community and consumers to advance meaningful engagement. These Town Halls are scheduled in conjunction with the National Ryan White Conference on HIV Care and Treatment to ensure maximum attendance. The NACCHO-CAEAR Coalition Strategic Partnership is planning a Town Hall in August 2024.
Partnership Awards Reception
Prior to the COVID pandemic, the CAEAR Coalition held a Partnership Awards event annually to acknowledge the contributions and support of individuals, organizations, Congressional leaders, and federal partners in the goal to advance the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program and end the HIV epidemic.
